The problem with overgrown areas is where do you start, and for me I do not know the garden at all, so what has been left in the garden or a structure built for a greenhouse base, steps, retaining walls and of course the unexpected rockery.

Walking through the garden it a vital part of assessing the work required when I visit for the first time to provide an initial estimate.

As well as the garden the roads, parking, access in and out of the garden and the length from the parking area to the garden has to be taken into consideration, if there is a lot to cut and clear then a long walking access to the parking area.

The before pictures were taken on my initial viewing, so from what I could see I had to make an assessment of the work, cost and time it would take to get the work done and then of course taking the green waste away and disposing of it in a licensed (commercials welcomed) green waste recycling centre.

As you can see with the long grass that has grown, wilted over winter and repeated for several years, which then hiding any structure that maybe underneath.

If a garden is left for several years, then small trees known as saplings will start to grow and if left will become dense and make access into that of the garden impossible. Tackling this area of the garden now is manageable, but if left for years it would turn into a small forest and the work then would be at another level and the cost would be in the thousands

Taking pictures of before is so important as you can easily forget how it looked originally.

The above picture is looking into the garden as you would approach it, so from the previous pictures you can see how important it is to walk the garden and not make assumptions from just looking at it, which can easily be done.

This is a picture taken from the same location after the work has been carried out.

All them saplings are now removed.
